With its stylish Italian design and spacious boot compartment, Fiat’s answer to the likes of the Ford Focus and VW Golf in the late noughties came by way of the Bravo.
However, the global family hatch market is highly competitive, so while the Bravo may not have sold as many as those mentioned above, its popularity in Italy and Brazil, in particular, made it a strong budget alternative and we thought it deserved a bit of POWERFLEX treatment too.
This week, and to feature alongside the suspension bushes that we already make, we are releasing two new Lower Engine Mount Inserts.
PFF16-720 Lower Engine Mount Insert is made of our Yellow 70A Durometer material and fills the voiding in the factory mount to provide greater engine control for sharper throttle response and gear changes. This product is for early 1.4T Fiat Bravo and 3rd Gen Lancia Delta Models.
PFF16-721 Lower Engine Mount Insert uses the same material and has the same impact as PFF19-720, but fits later 1.4T and diesel engined Bravo and Delta models.
Both feature polyurethane shim tubes to take up the excessive tolerance between the bolt and bore of the original mount. This reduces the hole in the mount from 20mm to 12mm, preventing movement under hard acceleration and enthusiastic gear changes.
For those after a track/motorsport-focused, no-compromise solution; these inserts are also available in our stiffer Black Series 95A material.
A small increase in NVH, usually at idle, should be expected when stiffening the connecting mount between the engine/transmission and chassis. The harder the material used, the greater the NVH transmitted.
