NL2023-06 Toyota MR2 Gen 3 (W30) Front Suspension Bushes

Toyota‘s only roadster came in the form of the 3rd Generation MR2. Lighter than its predecessor, and with a full drop-top, the mid-engined sports car was seen to rival Mazda‘s mighty MX-5.

Inevitably age catches up with us all, and with some of the earliest models being circa 20yrs old, its rubber suspension bushes are now at the point of replacement in many cases, blunting handling and chassis response.

This week, we are pleased to announce four new products for the last generation MR2:

PFF76-1001 Front Wishbone Front Bush uses our Black 95A durometer material to improve lateral stiffness during cornering, ensuring responsive turn-in and cornering stability.

PFF76-1002 Front Wishbone Rear Bush uses our Purple 80A material with a tapered bore design and CNC-machined aluminium outer shell to allow for smooth articulation, whilst providing 30% more radial stiffness and 2.5mm of anti-dive geometry to sharpen up braking response and maintain wheel geometry on bumpy B-roads. This part is also available in our Black Series 95A material for 160% higher radial stiffness, ideal for motorsports and track day use.

PFF76-1003-20 Front Anti-Roll Bar Bush and PFR76-1013-15 Rear Anti-Roll Bar Bush are made using our Purple 80A material with a knurled bore for grease retention for enhanced stiffness and durability, whilst letting the anti-roll bar freely rotate. These parts are also available in our Black Series 95A material for uncompromised performance.

Alongside these new parts, we have cross-referenced two parts from our current range to fit the MR2. PFF34-602 Rear Engine Mount Insert and PFF34-603 Front Engine Mount Insert have been re-designed to include nylon washers for improved stiffness and bush support. These inserts fit the MR2 Roadster as well as the 1ZZ-FED and 2ZZ-FE powered Lotus S2 Elise and Exige. Please note the new prices for these parts as shown on our website.

An increase in NVH, usually at idle, should be expected when stiffening the connecting mount between the engine and chassis. The harder the material used, the greater the NVH transmitted.
