BMW‘s E36 3-Series has become a firm favourite amongst the drifting community. Cheap, plentiful, with a perfectly balanced RWD chassis and an abundance of tuning products available, it’s easy to see why.
A common upgrade on both E30/E36 models to increase negative camber and give more steering angle clearance is to widen the front wheel track by 1” on each side by fitting the longer and lighter aluminium control arms from the later E46.
This isn’t a straight swap over, however, as the bracket offsets are different and the E46 wishbone has a hex bush fitting, while the E30/E36 wishbone has a round bush fitting.
Powerflex has the solution…
PFF5-3601BLK Front Wishbone Rear Bush (E46 Hybrid) is a two-piece hybrid design bush for free-rotation made using our Black 95A durometer material, that combines the inner hexagonal profile of the E46 aluminium wishbone and the outer dimensions of the E30/E36 ‘Lollipop’ mounting brackets.
PFF5-3603BLK Front Wishbone Rear Bush (E46 Hybrid, Alu Outer) works on the same principle as above but uses a CNC-machined Aluminium outer shell to reduce deflection by an additional 60% and increase durability for the most demanding of conditions.
Due to the intended usage of these bushes, they are only available in our Black Series, for uncompromised track and motorsports use.
