Born on the track, but equally at home on the road, BMW cars wearing the famous ‘M‘ badge are synonymous with a fully engaged, high-octane driving experience. Known as the Ultimate Driving Machine, it’s hard for one to argue such acclaim.
With the latest G8X M2/M3/M4 having massive performance, grip and ability straight from the showroom, it’s no wonder they’re finding their way to the most serious of track days and tuning shops across the globe.
The huge power and torque that the S58 engine produces, especially once tuned, does eventually over-stress some of the other drivetrain components, however; most notably the voided rear differential bushes.
The soft rubber combined with the voiding that BMW incorporate into the OE bushes for compliance and NVH absorption makes these a point of weakness when being driven aggressively, as highlighted recently by Powerflex customer and track experience provider, PalmerSport.
With their assistance during development, this week we are able to bring you a solution to the problem.
PFR5-4024 Rear Diff Front Mounting Bush is a new part number full bush replacement, reconfigured from existing CNC Aluminium componentry and polyurethane bushes.
PFR5-4026 Rear Diff Rear Mounting Bush is an existing part number commonly fitted to the previous generation F8X M2/M3/M4 that has been successfully installed and cross-referenced with the later G8X vehicles.
Both parts combine our signature Purple 80A durometer polyurethane and Black anodised 2011-T6 aluminium, to reduce drivetrain deflection and the potential for wheel-hop during hard launches.
These parts are available in our Black Series, 95A durometer material recommended for Track and Motorsport use, as test-fitted and track-proven on PalmerSport‘s latest generation M4 GTP. Thanks, guys!
