With their all-weather, all-wheel-drive ability, and much of the work being done by the torque vectoring xDrive system, wear to the rubber transmission mountings is common, which can lead to excessive movement and twist of the transmission at the centre of the vehicle and the associated on-off throttle drive-train ‘clunk’!
This week, for BMW X5 (E70 & F15) or X6 (E71 & F16) models, we are pleased to introduce an easy-to-fit bush insert solution designed to fill the voiding in the OE rubber gearbox transfer case bush to restrict overall movement and prolong bush life.
PFF5-1428 Transfer Case Bush Insert (Standard)is made from our Yellow 70A durometer material, providing an excellent balance of strength and compliance for improved performance on standard Petrol/Diesel vehicles whilst limiting NVH transmission into the cabin.
PFF5-1428P Transfer Case Bush Insert (Tuned/Track) is made from our signature Purple 80A material to restrict movement further for Tuned Petrol/Diesel vehicles and occasional track use.
PFF5-1428BLK Transfer Case Bush Insert (Motorsport) is made from our stiffest 95A Black Series material for Motorsport use, providing a no-compromise performance option for track-focused builds.
An increase in NVH should be expected when stiffening the connecting mount between the transmission and chassis. The harder the material, the greater the NVH transmitted.
