NL2024-37 Tesla Model 3 & Y Rear Upper Control Arm Bush

Designed to be more compact and affordable than previous offerings, the Model 3 was the EV the world had been waiting for.

Maintaining the range, style, and luxury expected from Tesla, the market responded well, with the Model 3 being the first EV to sell over a million units and, even six years after its launch, it was still the UK’s fourth best-selling EV in 2023.

Five years on, and many of the early cars are now out of warranty with businesses passing them on, and the second-hand market for used Model 3‘s is booming, a trend shared by its larger sibling, the Model Y.

Higher-mileage cars can be picked up at relatively bargain prices when compared to new ones, but that means mileage and age-related issues are starting to rear their heads, and none more so than at the Model 3/Y‘s multi-link rear suspension, where they suffer from the common problem of the original rubber bush coming out of the pressed steel rear upper control arm.

Where the standard OE bush sits in the arm, a split line between these two halves allows the smooth, thin metal shell to walk out of the arm as suspension loads work and distort the bush.

Failed OE Bush with Arrow 1

PFR75-311 Rear Upper Front Control Arm Bush is designed to solve this problem once and for all. Our solution is simple: a 95A durometer bush supplied with a much thicker, more rigid plated steel shell that won’t flex under the same loads, maintaining its rigidity and radial contact with the inside of the arm. CNC machined with a substantial lip, the shell presses into the arm to ensure the correct location of the bush.

This kit also ships with a replacement bolt, allowing the original bolt to be cut and the arm removed without needing to drop the entire subframe, saving considerable cost.
