A lot goes into producing one of a generation’s most revered hot hatches. For a company like Honda, with a history of sophisticated engineering, it would never be as simple as adding racing stripes and a bolted-on wing to create a go-fast look.
With the FK2 Civic Type-R, Honda pulled no punches. It matched the newly turbocharged motor with an LSD and all-new suspension components, meaning little carries over from the standard Civic to the Type-R.
This week we are pleased to announce an expansion to our existing Honda Civic Type-R FK2 range, featuring two new parts to help maintain its razor-sharp handling.
In front-heavy, front-engine, front-wheel-drive cars, controlling vehicle body roll is key to managing understeer. A larger anti-roll bar is normally used to minimise weight transfer, thus reducing body-roll but heavy use and age can wear the rubber bushes used to mount the bar to the chassis, reducing effectiveness.
PFF25-903-23 Front Anti Roll Bar Bush is made in our stiffest Black 95ShA material, complete with knurled bore for better grease retention and designed to re-use existing hardware, whilst providing an increase in rigidity, performance and longevity over the OE rubber bush.
On the rear, the closed-cell foam upper shock absorber bushes are a concern area. Used to isolate the damper from the body of the vehicle, age and usage can soften the foam allowing for movement of the damper shaft which inevitably leads to knocking and a loss in damper efficiency.
PFR25-930 Rear Upper Shock Mounting Bush is made in our Yellow 70ShA material to replace the OE foam bush, restoring damper location and performance.
Our polyurethane material is highly resistant to ageing and degradation, and our products carry our industry-leading Lifetime Warranty.
