Here at Powerflex, we believe we know a thing or two about flexibility, but hats off to VAG who take that concept to the next level…
Their first-generation modular MQB chassis underpinned over a dozen vehicles across four manufacturers, setting a new standard for efficient platform and parts sharing.
While many MQB chassised vehicles use a simple pressed steel front subframe, some premium/performance models use a cast aluminium subframe instead, such as:
Audi A3 / S3 MK3 8V (2013 – 2020)
Audi RS3 MK3 8V (2015 – 2020)
Seat Cupra Formentor (2020 on)
Volkswagen Arteon (2017 on)
Volkswagen Golf MK7 5G inc R (2012-2019)
Volkswagen Golf MK8 inc R (2020 -)
Volkswagen Passat B8 (2013 – 2024)
Volkswagen T-Roc (2018 on)
Volkswagen Tiguan AD/BW MK2 (2017 on) Volkswagen Touran (2017 on)
However, even though, in most cases, these cars use the same front wishbone as those with a steel subframe, a difference in shape and mounting method has meant that our PFF85-802 bush is unsuitable.
PFF3-1302 Front Wishbone Rear Bush has been designed to bridge this gap.
Made from our Black 95A polyurethane, this new bush has been engineered to provide additional upper and lower support, taking into account the thinner mounting position on the cast subframe.
It features an in-house CNC-machined steel outer shell to ensure a precise fit for the bush into the bore of the pressed-steel arm, and a stainless-steel sleeve and mild-steel washers to provide a more secure mounting point of the wishbone in the subframe while allowing articulation via its tapered bore.
This part is for road use only. For track or motorsport applications, or those that require on-car caster adjustment, please use PFF3-902G Front Wishbone Rear Bush.
As with all of our replacement bushes, this new offering is supported by our Lifetime Warranty for peace of mind.
