Volkswagen’s highly innovative, modular transverse-engine MQB platform is now 10 years old, and underpins over 32 million vehicles, across numerous marques and models, almost all with an all-wheel-drive variant. Along with an additional differential and driveshafts at the rear end, these cars use a different subframe with soft, voided mounting bushes; and as with all rubber bushes these wear, tear and fail – especially on the high-performance cars.
This week we are providing a solution to this issue with a new pair of products for all AWD MQB platform cars such as the VW Mk7 Golf R and Audi RS3 8V:
PFR85-827 Rear Subframe Front Mounting Bushes and PFR85-828 Rear Subframe Rear Mounting Bushes use our Purple 80A durometer material with bonded supporting washers for strengthening and a bespoke end face design to reduce noise transmission to the cabin, whilst maintaining durability and subframe location.
Firm subframe mounting will improve stability under hard acceleration, and reduce lateral body movement during cornering, ideal for those who want a more sporty and engaging drive.
These parts are also available in our Black Series 95A durometer material for a no-compromise track option.
